Here at Precision Acura of Princeton we believe that the 2025 MDX stands out in the luxury crossover segment. But you don’t have to take our word for it – keep reading to see how it compares to the competition!
2025 MDX vs 2025 Audi Q7 45 TFSI ®
Taking a look at the MDX SH-AWD with Advance Package and the Q7 45 Premium quattro® with Premium Plus Package you’ll see that the MDX offers several key advantages with a lower starting MSRP. With the MDX’s 3.5L V6 engine there’s 290 horsepower and a 5,000-lb. maximum towing capacity1. The comparable 2.0L 4-cylinder in the Q7 falls short with 261-hp and 4,400-lb. maximum towing capacity2. Both vehicles include a standard panoramic moonroof, but the MDX raises the bar by including a 16-way power-adjustable front seats compared to just a 8-way seats in the Q7 and a 19 speaker Bang & Olufsen premium audio system whereas the Q7 has a 17-speaker premium system. When you’re trying to keep your gaze ahead on Route 1, the 2025 MDX makes it easier with standard Head-Up Display – this convenience will cost you even more on the Q7.
2025 MDX vs 2025 BMW X5
Next up is the MDX SH-AWD w/Advance Package compared to the 2025 BMW X5 xDrive40i. Here again you’ll find that the MDX has a lower starting MSRP but offers equal or better features. As the driver or front passenger you’ll have impressive comfort with 16-way power-adjustable front seats on both vehicles and a panoramic moonroof for ample natural sunlight. The MDX gives you a significantly better audio system with the 19-speaker Bang & Olufsen setup compared to the 10-speaker HiFi Sound System in the X5. You’ll also have to pay extra for Head Up Display in the X5 and you are limited to just three selectable drive modes compared to five in the MDX.
2025 MDX vs 2024 Lexus RX
Our third and final matchup is with the 2024 Lexus RX 350 Luxury AWD. Unfortunately for the RX 350 it’s 2.4L turbocharged 4-cylinder can’t quite reach the performance of the MDX SH-AWD w/ Advance Package, topping out at 275 horsepower and only a 3,500-lb. maximum towing capacity2. It also only has four selectable drive modes. The MDX is going to be the right choice for Princeton drivers who need cabin space for furniture, sports equipment, or bikes. At 71.4 cubic ft. of cargo volume you’ll have much more room in the MDX compared to the RX 350’s 46.2 cubic ft. of maximum cargo space. The luxury features aren’t the same in the RX 350 either, as the best it offers are 10-way power-adjustable front seats, a 12-speaker sound system, and you are not able to add Google Built-In at all, which comes standard on the MDX3.
