You want to be sure to survive winter on the roads. You don’t know when your vehicle will break down or get stuck in the snow or ice. Further, you don’t know how long it will take for someone to get to you. As such, there are a few important things to have inside of your car as a winter survival kit.

Be prepared to stay inside of your car, without it running, for a while. You will want hats and gloves. Add a blanket or mylar sleeping bag for comfort, too. A hand warmer and a few emergency food bars should be considered as well.

Have an ice scraper for your windows. Have a snow shovel (collapsible or folding) to clear out snow. You should also have tire chains and a tow strap to help you get through the snow and ice.
